So this past weekend was quite the adventure! Ever since Matt found out that the WSU football team (where we currently attend graduate school) was playing BYU (Matt's all-time favorite college football team), we had been planning to drive down to Provo, UT to watch the game. It's about a 13 hour trip each way, but we both have family down there, so the combination of the game plus seeing family was too much to pass up! :)
Well, those of you who know us know that we have horrible luck when it comes to trips and our car. We almost missed Christmas with family one year because of last minute car problems, we had to rent a car to move to Idaho once because of engine problems, etc. Needless to say, the streak continued! The day before we were supposed to leave, our transmission went out! I am beginning to wonder why we expect anything different :) Despite almost calling the trip off, we were able to rent a car at the last minute! Yay! The best part of all was that when we went to go pick up the car, they gave us a 2011 Mustang! It was by far the nicest car Matt or I had ever driven, so it turned out okay :) We were able to make the trip as planned and our minor setback turned out to make the trip even more fun!
So once we were there we were able to go see some family and then go watch the game! It was sort of fun walking around the BYU campus in all our WSU gear. We definately got some funny looks, but most people were still nice to us :) We spent Thursday night at the game then Friday hanging out with our brothers and sisters who live there. It definately made for a great weekend! Conner had a blast at the game and absolutely loved seeing his cousins! Overall the weekend was a huge success! We are now safe and sound back home and enjoying the peace and quite... although we were a little sad to trade the Mustang back for our broken down 2002 Mazda :)
